Sharing Datasets

Share datasets with team members, stakeholders, or external users via public share links. Control access with email gates, set expiration dates, and track engagement through share analytics.

  1. Open a dataset and click the Share tab
  2. Click Create Share Link
  3. Configure access settings:
    • Email gate — toggle on to require email verification before access
    • Allowed emails (optional, requires email gate) — restrict access to specific email addresses
    • Expiration (optional) — set a date/time when the link automatically expires
  4. Click Create

A share URL is generated and displayed. Copy it and send it to your recipients.

Access Modes

Public Access (No Email Gate)

Toggle the email gate off for unrestricted access:

  • Recipients open the link and immediately see the dataset
  • No email collection, no access control
  • Best for quick demos or public reference data

Open Email Gate

Toggle the email gate on without specifying allowed emails:

  • Recipients enter any email address to access the dataset
  • Useful for lead capture — you can see who accessed the data in share analytics
  • Best for prospect demos or marketing data previews

Restricted Email Gate

Toggle the email gate on and add specific addresses in the Allowed emails field:

  • Only listed email addresses can access the dataset
  • Unauthorized emails are rejected with an access-denied message
  • Best for stakeholder reviews, client deliverables, or controlled team access

Share Permissions

Shared datasets are read-only. Recipients can:

  • View the dataset schema
  • Browse generated data in a table view
  • See version history
  • Export data (if enabled)

Recipients cannot modify the schema, generate new data, delete versions, change metadata, or create bindings.

Setting Expiration

Add an expiration to auto-revoke access:

  1. When creating or editing a share link, click Set Expiration
  2. Pick a date and time from the date picker
  3. Click Save

After the expiration time, recipients see an "This link has expired" message.

Use expiration for:

  • Time-limited demos
  • Temporary stakeholder access during a review cycle
  • Quarterly data snapshots shared externally

The Share tab on a dataset lists all active share links with:

ColumnDescription
LinkThe share URL (click to copy)
Email gateWhether email verification is required
Allowed emailsRestricted email list (if configured)
ExpiresExpiration date/time, or "Never"
AccessesTotal number of times the link was opened
CreatedWhen the share link was created
  1. Click a share link row in the Share tab
  2. Update the email gate, allowed emails, or expiration
  3. Click Save

Changes take effect immediately. Existing users retain access unless removed from the allowed emails list.

  1. Click the more options menu (three dots) on the share link row
  2. Select Revoke
  3. Confirm in the dialog

The link is permanently disabled. Recipients see an access-denied error.

Share Analytics

Track how share links are used:

  1. Click a share link row in the Share tab
  2. Click the Analytics section to expand it

Analytics show:

  • Total accesses — how many times the link was opened
  • Unique emails — distinct email addresses (if email gate is enabled)
  • Last accessed — most recent access timestamp
  • Access log — table of individual access events with email, timestamp, and IP address

Use analytics to:

  • Track stakeholder engagement with shared data
  • Identify who accessed the dataset and when
  • Validate that email gates are working as expected

Common Use Cases

  1. Toggle email gate off
  2. Set expiration to two weeks from now
  3. Share the link in your outreach email

Stakeholder Review

Create a restricted link for specific reviewers:

  1. Toggle email gate on
  2. Add reviewer email addresses in Allowed emails
  3. Set expiration to the end of the review period

Team Collaboration

Create a restricted link for your team:

Troubleshooting

Check that their email is in the Allowed emails list (if the email gate is restricted). Edit the share link to add their address.

The expiration date has passed. Edit the share link to extend the expiration, or create a new link.

The link was revoked or deleted. Create a new share link from the Share tab.
